David Sipes

President & CEO

David has been involved in construction since a very young age. It started with assisting his father, a Designer and Builder, on job sites and has morphed into over 30 years experience in the residential construction industry. With a Construction Management degree from Colorado State University and a special appreciation for the science of building, David developed ESI Builders & Remodelers to provide energy efficient, comfortable homes to his clients. He emphasizes a customer-driven approach with his team and greatly values the role that trust and communication play in the construction process. In his spare time, David enjoys doing a variety of different activities with his family and grandkids – fishing, hiking, and enjoying the great outdoors. 

Joel Krogman

Project superintendent

Joel organizes and manages an experienced team of Trade Partners and Vendors involved in every aspect of the construction process. He uses a detail oriented approach to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. With over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, he has the knowledge and expertise to identify potential problems before they occur and streamline the construction process from start to finish. His main goal is prioritizing quality craftsmanship and attention to detail for every project.  In his spare time, Joel enjoys fishing, archery, golfing and an array of other outdoor activities with his close friends and family. 

Maria Giorgi

Project Manager/Office Manager

Maria works directly with clients to develop design concepts and select specifications that turn their creative visions into a reality. Her focus is on effective, direct, and consistent communication on all levels. With an eye on innovative projects, new design trends, and effective budgeting practices — she thrives in bringing the many pieces together. A Degree in Communication Studies from Sacramento State and over 10 years experience in the home building industry gives Maria the abilities to help clients navigate the many components of the construction process with minimal stress. In her spare time, Maria enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her children and grand-children. 

Jacob Sipes

Business Administrator

Jacob manages the financial aspects associated with all construction projects. From developing accurate budgets to tracking pricing throughout the construction phase, he has an organized and meticulous set of procedures and clearly communicates this information to clients to help ease the stress that comes along with building. Jacob arrived at ESI Builders & Remodelers in 2021 with a degree in Managerial Economics from University of California, Davis and three years of experience in the banking industry. In his spare time, Jacob enjoys hiking, attending concerts, playing disc golf, and visiting local breweries in the greater Sacramento area. 

Helida McLain

Project Administrator

Helida works closely with our Project Manager, Maria, to help develop design concepts for every aspect of a construction project. Through comprehensive questioning and detailed discussions with clients, she takes preliminary ideas and evolves them into beautiful finished products. With an Interior Design degree from California State University, Chico and 10+ years of experience as a design consultant, Helida has the expertise to effectively manage the entire design process for our projects and utilize a customer-driven approach to ensure that our client’s vision truly becomes a reality. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, playing golf, and spending time with her family. 

Juan Mendoza

Assistant superintendent

Juan assists our Superintendent, Joel, in the oversight and coordination of all of the Trade Partners and Vendors on our active construction sites. Through a set of detailed quality assurance processes, he ensures that all work is completed in a timely manner and per ESI quality standards. He joined ESI as a U.S. Army Veteran with several years of construction experience as a carpenter and handyman. In his spare time, Juan enjoys playing disc golf, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
